Congratulations for another successful year at school for both of my boys! Tyler has finally settled in and enjoyed school this year for the first time ever and Jack graduated from elementary school, a bittersweet moment for us both.
Our new school schedule gives us a mere 8 weeks of Summer, and we intend to enjoy every minute of it! With that, you’ll find my work hours to be very limited for June and July. Please bear with me, as we enjoy all the fun and sun that Summer has to offer. We are creating our bucket list and are ready to hit the ground running!

Congratulations to my sweet friend Mitchell as he graduates high school this month and heads to Colorado for college!

I’m excited to be enlightened to the meaning of the Green Monstah! Very cool. Not sure how I have lived so long and never heard of it!

Best wishes for all the amazing possibilities that life has to offer!

parting shot:

what are you waiting for? hope to see you there!!!
I love surprises, though I’m probably not the best with secrets. I mean, if you ask me to promise never to ever tell, of course I will take it to the grave, but if it is one of those funny things that you’d rather not have people know I will probably tell my besties and then swear THEM to secrecy. It’s a fault, I’m sure!!! So when Gladys and Josh let me in on their BIG secret so that we could create a unique and awesome announcement to share their news with friends and family, I was happy to be sworn to secrecy for a few weeks. And now that everyone knows, and it isn’t a secret anymore, I’m excited that I get to share it with you!!
Rhiner is their first baby. And we had to find a fun way to include him in the announcement since, after all, he will be the big brother! Hee hee. We put our creative heads together, with a little help from Pinterest, and came up with this…possibly my favorite pregnancy announcement ever.

Congratulations, Gladys & Josh!! I can’t wait to meet your little bundle this fall.
If you have a creative, outside of the box idea for something you’d like to do involving portraits, I’d love to hear about it. It might just be the start of something big!
parting shot:

pure. simple. fun. bright. fast. fabulous. that’s how I describe the images from my new Simply You studio session. Quick and easy. Bring yourself, your child, or hop in there together. 30 minutes, with clothes changes welcome. Wear what Mom loves or what screams YOU, or both.
Tyler was my model last week. My friend Jennifer and I grabbed some simple images of Tyler and captured his sweet, funny personality in a matter of minutes. What started out as a camera comparison captured everything I would want to freeze this moment in time with my newly turned 5 year old. I’m already planning a time to get Jack in the studio for this as well. Maybe I’ll get him to bring a bunch of books too, since he loves to read.

Wouldn’t you love images of your children like these? What are you waiting for?
Call for details. After school sessions available too.
parting shot:

It’s baby month at khp! Meet Ms. Rosetta, one of my newest khp baby planners! She and her adorable big brother Harrison captured my heart the other day at her newborn session. And I LOVE Mom’s idea for their clothing! Awesome. Enjoy a few images of my time with sweet Rosetta and her family.

And thanks to the Rodways, my very first baby planner family, for referring this awesome family to me!! I’m excited to see Ms. Rosetta blossom into a toddling little girl in just a dozen or so months!!
parting shot:

A little over a year ago, Aubrey and her sweet husband came to me for maternity images, as they awaited the arrival of their baby boy. We had a blast capturing the joy and excitement that waiting to meet a new family member can bring!

Then, a little while later, I got the honor of meeting Oren myself. A beautiful baby boy. I love these newborn images!!! Daddy is a songwriter and performer, and we were able to capture that in a cool way with Oren’s session.

There is something extra special about knowing that Don’s dad gave him this guitar case years ago. Maybe one day Oren will play as well…with such a talented Daddy, he’s sure to get some of those genes!

Fast forward a few months and baby Oren has turned into a busy, happy, fun little toddler! Nearly ready to take his first steps, he brings abundant joy to his parents. They light up like crazy when they talk about him! It’s adorable. There is something so magical about watching your first baby turn into a toddling, babbling person. It’s one of God’s coolest tricks, in my opinion.
Here’s Oren and his beautiful Momma and sweet Daddy. One sunset-filled afternoon at the farm, as we celebrate the magic of that first year ending and a whole big life waiting ahead…

Thank you, Aubrey and Don, for allowing me to share this moment with you.
parting shot (tickle fight!!!):

Today is Miss Scarlett Mae’s birthday! She’s one year old today. She has been a sweet little angel this past year. I’m looking forward to our final installment of her baby planner sessions in the next few weeks. Mom Christy always dresses her so beautifully…I can’t wait to see what she has in store for our next session.
To celebrate with Miss Scarlett Mae today, here’s a look back at a few of my favorite images from her last year.

Happy Birthday, pretty girl! Can’t wait to see you again!
